Shot of the Day- Inukshuk

The Inukshuk was an important way to landmark a particular area of significance for many indigenous peoples of the Arctic. The landscape is often barren, so these rock piles were placed as type of sign. They could mean anything from, "Caribou this way" to "Uncle John was here", etc.
