Justin
Justin R. Gibson is an independent travel, cultural, humanitarian, landscape and wildlife freelance photographer. Originally from Colorado, Justin spends nearly eleven months traveling around the world, working primarily on commission, fine art prints, assignments and stock images.

“Travel photography is a remarkable and rewarding way for me to express the beauty that I see in the world. My only obligation is to put forth products with honesty and benevolence.”
Assignments & Commissions
While Justin works freelance via his website and fine art prints, he also loves to work with NGO’s, humanitarian organizations, non-profits as well as a variety of magazine commissions.
“The whole point to taking photos in an orphanage, sanctuary, etc. is to give something back. It behooves any self-respecting traveler to intentionally educated themselves on, not just the good but, the bad of the world around us. Whenever it’s possible to work with an organization dedicated to humanitarian causes, I jump at the chance.”
Writing
Writing, Justin’s not-so-secondary passion, is often integrated into his blog.
“I feel as though writing and photography are very much symbiotic. A picture may be worth a thousand words but it can’t tell the back-story. What does it feel like to visit a torture museum where the blood
hasn’t been washed off for thirty some years? What does it sound like when a 1,000 pound Grizzly Bear eats a salmon a few meters from you? That’s why I think the blog is so important to my work. Every shot has a back-story.”
